pTools - Accessibility Camp Toronto
Sep 14, 2011We should engage more with the accessibility community.
We deliver highly accessible websites as standard; we provide one of the very best applications available, for managing accessibility compliant content; we invest on an ongoing basis in accessibility product and process improvement. Maybe we don't make a big enough deal about these features. A customer recently described our document accessibility/conversion toolset as 'a borderline miracle'!
Although increased bandwidth means document downloads are no longer a burden for most end-users the need for accessibility means that Html will continue as the primary online information delivery format. Once you get content out of your documents into pTools CMS and out again as XML driven Html pages then you achieve not only accessibility compliance but you also dramatically improve how information is assembled, retrieved and used.
The process transforms the value and power of content in these otherwise encapsulated documents. On that note I should say we'll be attending the inaugural Accessibility Camp in Toronto on September 24th - next week Thursday. Andy Manko will represent pTools and I know he's keen to see us make the connection with the accessibility community in Canada.
