pTools - CMS Health Check
Nov 8, 2011I saw this idea for a software health check (http://www.ptools.com/Contacts/Surveys/) on the website of a little known company called Rightnow.com which as it happens was acquired last week by Oracle for a very large amount of money.
I thought it would be a useful piece of interactivity for pTools.com to have also. It is aimed at prospective customers but instructive for existing customers also. The risk of course is that existing customers use it and by default discover that there’s room for improvement on their already, dare I suggest outstanding, pTools implementation! It’s a risk worth taking I think because we want to know how existing customers feel about implementations and we want to identify opportunities for improvement. Also, it’s always useful to see how a potential vendor defines the type of issue that warrants such checks and let’s face it we are all interested in how our business rates against others expectations. This said it’s very much about the software when in fact I’m increasingly convinced that good vendor/customer technology relationships are as much influenced by values like honesty, integrity, goals and responsibility as they are by coding standards. This perhaps is for another check list and another day.
