pTools - Gold ISV
Nov 8, 2011Once again pTools has been independently tested for the Microsoft .net platform and we have successfully gained Microsoft Gold Partner ISV (Independent Software Vendor) status. Although partner renewal is every year, product testing is in effect only every two years. It’s always a moment of tension and it feels like we’re sending our child out to be judged.
Only a handful of CMS companies world-wide have Gold ISV status. We are proud of the achievement yet cautious of the link to a gargantuan partner like Microsoft; confident of the core software benefits yet uncertain of the business value. However the result, in terms of software design, remains the same and we’re much the better company for that. For customers it means a guarantee that developing sites on pTools meets the standard and that there’s no surprises under the bonnet (that’s the hood, of course) and that integrating other applications with pTools is not a problem. And although cloud-based delivery is likely to diminish the tangible value of this type of accreditation, the abstract nature of cloud delivery may in fact increase the perceived value.
Tom Skinner is Managing Director / CEO of pTools Software. Before joining pTools he worked with LG Electronics and the Irish Board of Trade in product development. Tom's work with pTools ranges from business management to sales as well as working closely with the new product development team. He helped design, develop and deploy the very first pTools CMS solutions in 1997 and has worked on every phase of company and product development since. Married with two children he lives in Dublin.
