pTools - Irish Stock Exchange
Dec 8, 2011
Right now many companies are trying to cope with the diversity of information and content that needs to be managed across multiple networks and platforms. For the Stock Exchange the challenge is made even more intricate by the need to meet the many governance risk and compliance standards and legislation in the financial sector. As Mark Scully head of IT at the ISE outlines in this week’s Sunday Business Post:
The website and its information services depends totally on a smart content management system, originally developed for the ISE by pTools in 2003, and redesigned and configured with it last year. There are both standard pTools content management functionality and a number of key be-spoke features involved, and we are working with them on three strategic and innovative projects that will strengthen our business appeal to the markets,'' said Scully. The ISE web content management system is designed to handle high volumes of changing information, taking in both inputs by ISE staff, manual and automated, and multiple secure data feeds from approved external sources. "It is important that ISE staff be able to use the content management system easily. They are all familiar with it at this stage and we continue to make improvements in the usability, as well as the security and quality control, of the information processes,'' said Scully. "We carry all of the essential information on each of the 28,000 financial instruments listed, as well as relevant announcements -13,000 in October alone - and regulatory and other news services,'' Scully said. "Our top20 files alone were viewed 346,000 times in the last month."
