Content Management Software developer pTools today announced its software will be used for a range of multi-language content management and compliance initiatives for The Pensions Board. The Pensions Board website, which recently released its online pensions calculators in seven languages, is already available in Irish and English and new initiatives will further enhance this multi-language content availability.
pTools multi-language functionality is an established part of the pTools suite with long standing deployments in place in Irish, Welsh, German and Polish language environments. Other recent deployment sites include the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Kilkenny County Council and Department of An Taoiseach.
Commenting on the work David Malone, Head of Information Services with The Pensions Board said: "pTools content management software allows us to easily manage, quickly publish and accurately control content across our site. The recent development of the calculators feature in the seven main languages used in Ireland should benefit many visitors and we expect to develop this aspect of the site further."
pTools has enhanced multi-language capabilities in line with the Official Languages Act which states .....The pTools programming interface allows development for any language format with core content management features now available in 22 languages including major European languages
Tom Skinner, Managing Director of pTools says: "This feature set is now available to pTools users to develop multi-language, multi-site deployments that are fully compliant and standards based. This is rapidly becoming a default for organisations who want to engage diverse internal and external audiences. Here in Ireland there are demands for multi-language functionality that reflect rapidly changing demographics and pTools is working with customers to provide the software needed to handle this content management challenge."
pTools multi-site functionality allows re-use of content across multiple site locations from a single repository, while maintaining all the necessary workflow and compliance rules demanded of enterprise level initiatives. Content compliance within pTools uses sophisticated audit trail functionality that allows pTools customers to validate and non-repudiate all events in the life of the content developed.
pTools deploys to Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases and enables content management professionals to use the pTools programming interface and development tools to deliver solutions for Intranets, Extranets and Internet applications. Key features include: advanced workflow and content compliance; rapid deployment and in-built Web2.0 features; Sharepoint and Vista integration; 'clean code' accessibility standard; pTools 'content element model'; content security marking; and multi- language, multi-site syndication.
