The latest release of the pTools enterprise content management software product will be launched at Online Information 2006 in London this month.
This new product, pTools S5 (System Five) has already been deployed successfully in large scale deals to customers including Allianz Cornhill, Devon & Cornwall Police, Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) and the National Consumer Agency. Ease of use, combined with powerful functionality that works end-to-end from development to delivery is central to the new product.
pTools S5 is the company's first major international product release and is the culmination of years of product development. Key features include: advanced workflow and content compliance; rapid deployment and in-built Web2.0 features; .Net framework and SharePoint integration; advanced 'clean code' accessibility standard; advanced pTools 'content element model' (CEM) versatility; content security marking; multi- language and advanced search and retrieval capability.
Tom Skinner, Managing Director of pTools says: "pTools S5 is already a real success and a real platform for our product and business development in the future. It puts us in a strong position to extend into international markets and to win customers who want powerful content management software that is reliable and proven in real enterprise environments."
In addition to new Web2.0 features pTools S5 integrates fully with Microsoft's .Net framework and further enhances product connectors between pTools, Microsoft application server products like Sharepoint and the new Microsoft Vista office suite. pTools S5 deploys to Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases and enables content management professionals to use the pTools programming interface and development tools to deliver solutions for Intranets, Extranets and Internet applications.
Skinner continues: "Ease of use for end users is key but the ability of content management professionals, software developers, and systems administrators to use pTools as an essential element of their overall infrastructure is also an important aspect of the product. We are putting a lot into helping business users gain valuable metrics and management information from the system and we're getting great feedback on this from customers."
Commenting further Clive Kent, pTools Sales Manager said "We're competing with world class competition and we need a world class product that hits all the right ECM features. pTools S5 tackles the market head on and delivers an exceptionally high level of feature functionality for a mid-market content management software product. What's more, its not going to be bleeding edge for new customers because we've already put the product into some of the most demanding customer environments. pTools S5 gives our partners and customers a content management platform that works right across the spectrum from quick win web developments to enterprise Intranet deployments."
pTools S5 builds on previous pTools versions and the company has an established base of customers who have all developed through previous product releases and many of which have already adopted pTools™ S5.
pTools S5 uses the content element model developed by the company to deliver sites that run on any platform or device. pTools content element model enables advanced enterprise content management functionality for content assembly, personalisation and security, ensuring robust workflow and compliance for every element of the final site output and dynamic re-use and re-purposing of content in a fully controlled content lifecycle environment.
